Laticrete SPECTRALOCK PRO Premium Translucent Grout is a two-part epoxy grout with a finish unlike most grouts on the shelf. Rather than adding a strong tone of its own between the tiles, it diffuses light, so the tile next to it looks brighter and the whole layout reads as one surface. That makes Laticrete translucent grout a natural fit for glass tile, mosaics and stone, where a heavy grout color can fight the tile you spent time choosing.
It is also a practical grout. Laticrete calls it stainproof for residential installations, it never needs sealing, and it cleans up to its original color with neutral soap and water. The non-sag formula stays put on walls, so you can use it on floors and walls, indoors and out. It fills joints from 1/16 to 1/2 inch, and the 80 minutes of working time at 70°F leaves room to work through a bathroom wall or a mosaic backsplash without racing the clock.
Because it is epoxy, it handles wet areas well. Laticrete lists it for showers, fountains and swimming pools, and for regrouting existing tile. Keep in mind that epoxy grout is not a waterproofing membrane. If your job needs one, it goes under the tile, and the grout finishes the surface.
Each kit ships as pre-measured parts: a pouch of Part A, a pouch of Part B and a bag of Part G glass beads, plus the cleaning additive for the initial and final wash. The mini kit yields about 0.32 gallons of mixed grout and the full kit about 0.77 gallons. SPECTRALOCK DAZZLE, the optional glitter or glow-in-the-dark additive, is sold separately.
The grout meets ANSI A118.3, ISO 13007-3 RG and EN 13888 RG, and it is UL GREENGUARD certified for low chemical emissions, with a total VOC content of 0.031 g/L.
If you are deciding between a translucent grout and a standard colored epoxy, start with the tile. Glass tile, pale stone and small-format mosaics often look best when the grout stays out of the way, and that is the job this grout is built for. If the design calls for a defined grout line in a specific color, a colored epoxy is the better tool.
Stone deserves a test patch either way. Epoxy resins can shift the color of white or light porous stones such as White Carrara and Thassos, and the glass beads can scratch soft polished marble, delicate glazed tile or glass tile. Grout a small hidden area first and look at it dry.

Yes. It is listed for showers, fountains, swimming pools and other wet areas. Epoxy grout is not a waterproofing membrane, so use a waterproofing membrane where the job needs one. For pools, fountains and steam rooms, let the grout cure for 10 days at 70°F before use or filling.

Yes, it is an optional additive for a glitter or glow-in-the-dark grout, sold separately. The glow-in-the-dark version is not for submerged installations, and it can discolor with strong alkali cleaners or acids, so use soap and water on it.
Not on floors and base areas in the food preparation or cleaning area of commercial and industrial kitchens. For those jobs Laticrete recommends an ANSI A118.5 grout such as SPECTRALOCK 2000 IG.
No. Adding water or anything else, or re-tempering, damages the grout and voids the warranty. For narrow joints, you can leave out up to 10% of the Part G beads to make it a bit more fluid.
Use neutral pH soap and water. Avoid enzymatic and no-rinse cleaners, and keep acid cleaners off it for the first 7 days.

Clean with a neutral pH soap and water. If you want to use another cleaner, check with its maker first. Avoid enzymatic and no-rinse cleaners. Propane heaters can yellow epoxy grout, so vent them or skip them while it cures.
Laticrete lists three warranties for this grout in the US: a 1 Year Product Warranty, and 25 Year and Lifetime System Warranties. The system warranties are tied to LATICRETE system installations, so read the documents before you plan the job. Adding water to the mix or re-tempering it voids all warranties.
