Prepare the surface. The substrate must be structurally sound, stable, clean, and free of dirt, oil, grease, paint, concrete sealers, curing compounds, and other bond-breaking materials. Installation surfaces should be between 60°F and 90°F (16°C to 32°C). New concrete must be damp cured and at least 28 days old before application. A damp surface is acceptable, but standing water should not be present.
Check flatness and movement joints. Correct rough or uneven surfaces before installation. LATICRETE requires slabs to be true to within 1/4 inch in 10 feet (6 mm in 3 m). Existing construction and expansion joints must continue through the tile assembly; do not bridge them with adhesive.
Verify wood-floor construction when applicable. For interior plywood floors, confirm that the framing, subfloor, underlayment, fastening schedule, spacing, and deflection meet LATICRETE requirements. Do not install directly over particle board, OSB, luan, Masonite, or hardwood.
Mix Parts A and B. Pour Part A and Part B into a clean mixing pail and mix thoroughly.
Add Part C filler. Add the Part C filler powder and continue mixing until the material reaches a smooth, trowelable consistency. The adhesive is ready to use immediately after mixing.

What’s Included

How Much Do I Need?

Coverage depends heavily on the trowel size and the tile or stone being installed. A #2 Unit covers approximately 30-35 sq. ft. with a 1/4 x 1/4 in. square-notch trowel, 60-70 sq. ft. with a 1/8 x 1/8 in. square-notch trowel, 40-50 sq. ft. with a 3/16 in. V-notch trowel, or 125-135 sq. ft. with a 1/16 in. V-notch trowel. Installer Tip

Epoxy adhesives are less forgiving of poor preparation than ordinary thin-set mortars. Before mixing a full unit, confirm that the substrate is ready, the tile is dry-fit where needed, movement joints are planned, and all tools are on hand. Once Parts A, B, and C are combined, the published pot life is about 45 minutes at 70°F (21°C), and warmer conditions can shorten that working time.
