The Spin Doctor Tile Lippage Leveling System uses an innovative reusable cap and post system that provides a quick, labor saving solution to reduce tile lippage. With large format tile becoming more and more common, tile leveling systems have become a necessity in many commercial and residential wall and floor installations.

The Spin Doctor title leveling system has a patented free-spin design that allows installers to tighten the cap down with one hand and does not require any additional tools. The economical Spin Doctor Tile Leveling system not only reduces labor costs, it also doubles as a spacer (1/16″ & 1/8″) and the caps are reusable.

Level Installed Tiles with Spin Doctor Tile Leveling System

The Spin Doctor Tile Leveling System offers a critical tool to ensure that installed tile are level at the edges relative to each other and a tile edge on one tile is not installed so it is higher than the edge of an adjacent tile. When the tile edges are not on a level plan relative to each other, it is known as “lippage”. Besides being unsightly, lippage can cause trip hazards and potentially cause damage from heavy traffic to the edge of the tile that is higher than the adjacent tile.

Lippage can be a particular problem when installing large format tile which is difficult and expensive to correct and when using multiple crews to install large commercial projects due to challenges overseeing the work of numerous mechanics. Also, large open tiled areas such as malls, tend to show lippage issues more so than smaller areas especially under open lighting and when tile with a glossy finish is installed.

Type of Spin Doctor Tile Leveling System

The Spin Doctor Tile Leveling System is comprised of a cap and posts that can double as spacers. The Spin Doctor posts are available in 1/6” and 1/8” widths to accommodate various grout joint widths.

The Spin Doctor Tile Leveling System caps are installed by hand on the posts once the posts are installed in the open grout joints with the post bases secured under the installed tile.

The Spin Doctor Lippage Leveling System caps are installed on the posts by simply spinning the caps down clockwise by hand onto the threaded posts until the caps are firmly resting against the tile. This step should be done when the thinset is still wet so that the tile edges can move vertically to align flush with each other.

The reusable Spin Doctor Tile Leveling System caps are designed with openings so the mechanic can see if the adjacent tile is flush along the joint. If necessary, the Spin Doctor cap can be unscrewed to realign the tile. Once the thinset is cured and the grout joints ready to grout, the Spin Doctor Tile Leveling System caps and posts can be kicked out of the joints without disturbing the tile.

(The Spin Doctor Posts break off from the bases secured under the tile). The Spin Doctor caps can then be removed from the broken posts and reused on the next project.
